Vision Board
Vision Board

Using meditation before creating your vision board can truly be inspiring.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • oak tag
  • magazines
  • glue stick
  • sisscors
  • Willingness to be open to not knowing what your vision is
  1. Step 1

Sit still and close your eyes. Smile. From this place of smiling think about the following - if you had nothing to lose what would you do? What would it look like? How would it feel? Now let those same thoughts go and be willing to go into the unknown. As you browse through magazines, cut out what may seem to inspire you. If you don't know why an image may inspire you, even better just cut it out and put it aside. Keep going until you feel like you have enough images, and pictures, words, phrases, that may represent the essence of what was inspiring you.

  2. Step 2

With your glue stick place your images all over your oak tag board. You may not need all the images you cut out. This is ok. When you are done you will know and you will be done. Take breaks if you have to and then come back, but do finish your board. It is a gift you are giving yourself.

  3. Step 3

Stand back and take a look at your board. What do you see? Maybe something new will pop out at you that you didn't realize. You can walk away from the board and look at it again. It is a board to inspire you. A map of possibility for yourself.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are various ways to read a vision board after it is done. One of them is the following. See if any of your images fall in line with the following:
  • Top Left - Home, Personal Care, Healing
  • Top Right - Romance, Relationships
  • Bottom Left - New ideas
  • Bottom Right - Career
  • Center - Spirituality
  • Be gentle with yourself when creating a vision board. It does not have to be perfect. It is a safe space for you to explore what it is you may really want. For some that may be scary, that is why I suggest be gentle with yourself.
