While Adobe Photoshop may seem intimidating to the novice user, it is easy to learn some of the simple functions on an individual basis. As you become more advanced and comfortable with the tools, palettes and workspaces, you will become more particular about your workspaces and palettes. Here is how to work with those options.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
If you set up your toolbox palette and are happy with them, you may save their locations. To do that in Windows, go to Edit, then Preferences, and then General. Select “Save Palette Locations.” To do that in Mac OS, go to Photoshop, then Preferences, and then General. Select “Save Palette Locations.”
Step2
If you prefer to always have the program start with the default locations of the palettes and dialog boxes, go to Edit, then Preferences, then General (Windows) or Photoshop, then Preferences, then General (Mac OS.)
Step3
Deselect the “Save Palette Locations” options. You will have to close and then restart the program for the changes to take effect.
Step4
To reset all palettes to their original default positions, go to Window, then Workspace. Select “Reset Palette Locations.”
