Minesweeper is a math game that can be quite fun if you understand how to play it. The game comes with most computers that have Microsoft but no were on the computer are instructions for the game. Here are simple instructions. Feel free to rate this article.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Minesweeper

Step1
The Mines When you open your Minesweeper the fist thing that you will notice is the grid of blank, grey squares. The three digits in the top left hand corner of the game' s window is the number of mines there are that you have to uncover without exploding them. In the top right and corner of your game' s window is the number of seconds its taking you to complete the mission of sweeping all the mines. You must complete the mission before the time reaches 999. If you don't its ok it just means you won't have a best time, you wont lose until you click on a mine.
Step2
There are three difficulties beginner, intermediate, and expert. The beginner set up has only ten mines while intermediate has 40 mines and expert has 99.
Step3
To begin the game you have to click any were on the blank squares, hoping none of them you click is the mine until you get an automatic clear on the board. Sometimes it may take a few tries to get to a starting point. If you need to start the game over, all you have to do is click on the smiling face in the middle of the top of your game. This will reset the game for another try.
Step4
After you get a clearing you may begin. I suggest not to rush yourself against the clock until you have the hang of how the game works. Each number corresponds to how many mines are touching that square. (ex: If you see a number 2 square it means there are two mines touching that square weather its any of the corners or the sides of that square). Remember to think your move through so you don't lose the game. After you get used to how the game is played then you can start working on beating the clock and your best times. When you do this try to do it with as few clicks as possible.
Step5
When you know for sure a square is a mine by doing the math with all the numbered squares around it then click on the mine with your right mouse button and this will flag it so that you don't accidentally click it and you have to mark all the mines with these flags in order to get anywhere in the game. If you click the flag again it turns into a question mark just to help you mark the ones that you think may be a mine to help you through the game.
Step6
Good luck and feel free to rate this article and comment if you have any questions!

Tips & Warnings

  • If you race against time, I suggest not using the question marks to help you because it will just slow you down.
