Who doesn’t like chocolate? This party game can be played with children as young as 5- or 6-years old and with adults over 80. It is highly competitive, and the most successful players will end up eating the most chocolate.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • For each group of four to six players you need:
  • 1 Table
  • 1 Chair for each player
  • 1 Plate
  • 1 Plastic knife
  • 1 Plastic fork
  • 1 Plastic fork for each player.
  • 1 Die
  • 1 Large bar of chocolate in its wrapper
  • Wrapping paper
  • Tape
  • Ribbon

Before the Party Starts

Step1
Wrap each chocolate bar in at least three layers of wrapping paper, taped shut. Use wrapping paper that is consistent with your party decorations.
Step2
Tie the bar with ribbon but adjust the knots according to the ages and ability levels of the players. You can even handicap the older players by making the exterior wrapping and ribbon more complicated for the candy bar that you give them. Then you can sort the players so that the youngest players have a chocolate bar that is easier to open than the older ones.
Step3
Place one wrapped bar of chocolate on a plate in the middle of each table.

How to Play

Step1
Identify the starting player at each table. You could pick the youngest or oldest player at each table or you could roll the die and let the one with the highest number start. The starting player will begin to untie the ribbons on the chocolate bar. It is against the rules to cut the ribbon; the players must untie the knots. The player to the left of the starting player rolls the die until the number six is rolled.
Step2
Pass the plate with the chocolate bar to the player to the right of the starter. Pass the die to the right as well. Whenever a six is rolled both the plate and the die should move to the next player.
Step3
Start tearing off the wrapping paper one layer at a time once the ribbon is completely off.
Step4
Pass the plate and the die whenever anyone rolls a six.
Step5
Use the shared knife and fork to cut the fully unwrapped chocolate bar into bite-sized pieces. Players should transfer the cut pieces of chocolate onto their personal fork before lifting it to their mouths. It is against the rules to touch the chocolate with your fingers, elbows, wrist, or any other part of your body. Only the player’s personal fork can be used to move the chocolate into his mouth.
Step6
Continue playing until all the chocolate is eaten.

Tips & Warnings

  • For health reasons, use a different color for the fork that cuts the chocolate and use it only for that purpose.
