Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Make a search. Use the search tool on the start menu and search for the words command prompt in the first dialog box and choose local hard drives to search and hit the search button. Once the command prompt listed under the folder windows/sytem32/config shows up, make a short cut to it on the desktop for future reference. This is usually accomplishe by right-clicking on the icon and clicking the send to and desktop choices.
Double click on the shortcut and f-disk should be accessable from there.
Step2
If step one did not get you to the command prompt, you need the computer's boot disk or the original CD-Rom with restore programs on it.
You need to put the disk in as the computer is starting up and choose the MS-DOS command prompt option. When the C:/ prompt shows up, type dir and hit enter. Fdisk should be one of the options--you may be able to do this with any disks that go with XP systems that are the restore CD-rom.
Step3
The above two steps should be sufficient to get to fdisk.
