How to Pack for a Honeymoon

When planning their wedding day, sometimes the last thing on the minds of the bride and groom is the preparation for the honeymoon. But regardless of where you're going, knowing how to pack for an enjoyable, relaxing trip should always be near the top of your to-do list.

Instructions

    • 1

Most airlines will allow each passenger to carry on one small bag. Pack enough clothes and portable toiletries in these two bags to hold you over for a couple days should there be a problem with retrieving your luggage.

    • 2

Pack for all contingencies. The three main outfits for most honeymoons are beachwear, casual wear and semi-formal or formal wear. Though it probably won't be cold where you're going, packing for chilly or rainy weather is important too.

    • 3

Give your itinerary to a relative or friend who will be attending the wedding. This way someone will know your flight times and will be able to bring something to the airport, such as your passport, that you may have left behind.

    • 4

Take a camera! Remember to load up on film, or memory if taking a digital camera, so you can capture every moment.

Tips & Warnings

  • For carry-on luggage, limit your liquids such as shampoos and lotions to 3 oz containers

  • If you're going out of the country, give yourself plenty of time, at least a month, to get your passport. Passport photos can be taken at most post offices and Walgreen's stores.

  • Tie a ribbon on your luggage, so it's easier to pick yours out from all the look-a likes that will pass by.
