How to Use My Neti Pot
Neti pots can be used as a part of your regular hygiene program, but most people who use them do so only occasionally, to relieve sinus congestion or prevent sinus infections. The main purpose of this apparatus is to cleanse the nasal passages, and it's not that difficult to use.

Things You'll Need
- Neti pot
- Non-iodized salt
- Distilled water
- Facial tissues
- Clean towels

Fill the neti pot with lukewarm distilled water.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized salt and mix. The salt will help dry out your nasal passages and will help prevent infection.

Lean over your sink and tilt your head to the side. Insert the spout of the neti pot into your "upper" nostril.

Tilt the neti pot, in order to let the water flow into this nostril. Keep your mouth open and breathe through your mouth during this procedure.

Continue until the pot is empty, remove the spout, and blow your nose gently.

Tilt your head to the opposite side and repeat steps for the opposite nostril.

Dry your face with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Keep your mouth open so you can breathe while you are pouring the water into your nostrils.
If pressure, pain or congestion is persistent or severe, seek medical attention.
