Things You'll Need:
- Notebook
- Pen
- Calendar
- Trip itinerary
-
Step 1
As soon as plans are set with date, time of departure, and destination, it is a good time to start with making lists.
-
Step 2
Mark the dates on the family calendar so you all know and can start preparing for the family vacation. This becomes more important the older your children are because of activities or working schedules.
-
Step 3
Make arrangements for family pets to be appropriately cared for. This will alleviate concerns and help make for a wonderful, relaxing trip. When pets are going to be well cared for, it leads to a great trip.
-
Step 4
Pay bills that need to be paid before going on the trip, and do them the week before.
-
Step 5
Stop your mail delivery, and the newspapers.
