How to curb smoking.

Let's face it. No matter what enjoyment some might receive from smoking it is a terrible habit. Your health alone is at tremendous risk. Other areas of life might even be more affected by this dire abuse of your lungs. If you're trying to cut down your smoking, especially if you have been doing it for many years, it's very difficult to curb for most, and almost near impossible to quit cold turkey. I smoked for 15 years and stopped by using a method I called the 'Half Hour Drag.' For those of you who realize how hard it is to quit here are some simple steps to at least cut back on the misery.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • 30 minute intervals

Step1
Whenever you have an urge for a cigarette tell yourself it's alright to
smoke after 30 minutes have gone by.
Step2
In this 30 minute "drag" period of not lighting up a cigarette do something other than thinking about having a cigarette.

Go walk, read a magazine, write in a journal, do some calisthenics,
etc...
Step3
If you remember 30 minutes have gone by you can smoke another cirgarette, but what usually happens is you forget you even wanted one
in the first place. If you decide to smoke go ahead, however during the time you want another cigarette, repeat steps one and two.
Step4
In conclusion if you keep consistantly doing the 'Half Hour Drag' technique, you will definately curb your smoking habit. Eventually
you might even quit smoking just by forgetting to light another cigarette every half hour. It happened to me!

Tips & Warnings

  • Think more about living a Healthy Lifestyle.
  • Breath deeply for a minute every day.

on 3/18/2008 I was a pack and a half a day smoker and quit smoking in one 30-minute treatment with laser therapy. I went to a company called Freedom Laser Therapy that provides a pain free low-level laser procedure which helps alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms. The staff at Freedom Laser Therapy is dedicated and passionate about helping smokers end their nicotine addiction.

I would really recommend laser therapy to help you quit smoking. Go to their locations page to find a Freedom Laser Therapy clinic or a local quit smoking laser therapy practionioner in your area. http://www.freedomlasertherapy.com
