Try content websites like Associated Content, Constant Content, or Helium. These will pay you in various ways, from being paid from page views, to upfront payment. This is a good way to get some clips if you are just starting out.

Magazines are another great way, albeit slower payment, to get published. They typically pay tons better than any other avenue. You will need to query the market with your idea, and then if they give you the goahead, send the article. Places like Health, Arthritis Today, and Diet&Nutrition are great markets.

Try for a syndication. Pitch a column to your local paper and see if you can get a regular gig to put your health articles in.
Step4
Remember to try to only sell one time rights, not first rights or exclusive rights, that way you can resell an article in many different markets. Research well and keep notes as to where you are sending the piece and what they are asking from you for publication.

Just also remember, that money is suppose to go TO you, never pay to publish.
