Everything you do on a computer these days are pretty straightforward in Microsoft Word expressly to underline a character. But, preparing a document you may need to "overline" a character. To do this you have to place a line over the top of a character or word.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
To insert your overlined character or word, you must navigate your cursor to where you want it.
Step2
Then you must press CRTL + F9, which will insert a set of braces.
Step3
You can replace the P with your character or word, otherwise you must type in "EQ \x\to(P)" if you want to insert an overlined character above a P.
Step4
Then press shift+F9 to get your character.
