How to Organize a Colleague's Farewell Party
A party is one way to bid farewell to a coworker when he is approaching his last day in your office. A party is a good option when someone who is leaving has lots of friends in the office. Before planning the party, make sure that the idea is well received both by the other people who work in the business and the person who is leaving.

Speak with the other people who work in the office to get some input on the party. It can be awkward to throw a farewell party when many of the people in the office don't want to attend.

2
Choose a location for the party. If you have a space in the office where you can throw a party, do it there. Otherwise, throw the party in a nearby restaurant or bar. If the group will be large, you will likely need to reserve a space.

Set a budget for the party. Many businesses have funds set aside for farewell parties. If the company is not going to contribute money, you will likely need to pool funds from people who work in the office. The budget will determine the type of party that you are able to throw.

Tips & Warnings
Everything about the event should be voluntary at all times and in all ways.
If it's at work, clean up after yourself, for crying out loud.
Save the lap dancers or male strippers for another time. Regardless of where the farewell is held, it's still a business event.
