Step1
Before you plan your trip to Central Florida, look at travel sites such as Expedia and Orbitz. Disney World and other Central Florida locations are always on sale and you can often find unbeatable specials online.
Step2
Decide if Disney is for you. Though the Walt Disney World Resort is a great place to bring kids, there are plenty of activities for adults to partake in. For instance, Disney's Boardwalk is full of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Downtown Disney hosts an adult-entertainment venue called Pleasure Island, hosting a bunch of clubs, restaurants, and shops.
Step3
Another popular attraction in Central Florida is Universal's Cityplace. After a day of riding roller coasters and taking movie-inspired rides at Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure, a great activity is strolling around Cityplace. You will encounter world-class restaurants, such as Emiril's and the NASCAR Cafe. You can shop, dine, and visit hopping nightclubs at this entertainment complex as well.
Step4
If you want to visit a more laid back locale, head to the quaint little town of Celebration. Originally a Disney creation, this real-life small town houses antique shops, restaurants, gorgeous properties, and a downtown reminiscent of small town life. If you're visiting during the holiday season, you can even see it snow downtown on Main Street.
Step5
Visit Sea World or Discovery Cove. Not only can you see whales, dolphins, and all sorts of sea creatures up close and personal, you can opt to swim with them at Discovery Cove. Sea World is a wonderful place to bring children or friends alike.
Step6
Visit some beaches. Though Central Florida may not seem like the prime place to see some old-fashioned Florida coastline, you can get to Cocoa Beach within an hour or so. Visit the world famous Ron Jon surf shop and hit the waves!
Step7
If you don't mind a small drive, head on over to the Kennedy Space Center. It's a don't miss. The Kennedy Space Center is located at Cape Canaveral, a popular docking port for cruise ships. The Space Shuttle is launched from this location and visitors can tour all kinds of interesting replicas and displays.
Step8
Go to a water park. Besides the fantastic ones featured at Walt Disney World, there are plenty of affordable options. For instance, Wet n Wild located on International Drive is a popular and wallet-friendly attraction. You can check out restaurants, shopping malls, and souveneir shops along the way if you wish.
Step9
Visit a golf course. In neighboring Lake County, there are beautiful rolling hills, lakes, and championship golf courses. The quaint Mission Inn houses a full resort with an incredible course. Escape to Lake County for watersports such as jetskiing or activities like cycling.
Step10
Go shopping. Central Florida has some amazing, affordable shopping centers. Want an upscale experience? The new Mall at Millenia offers everything from Gucci to Banana Republic. The Pointe Orlando entertainment complex offers movie theaters, stores, and restaurants. Outlet stores are common in the center of the state, offering residents and visitors award-winning shopping.
