Ballroom dancing is traditionally known for emphasizing conservative, heterosexual roles. Simply put, men lead the dance and women practice gracefulness and poise while appearing as if they are having the best time of their lives. Such a dance allows for most men to experience the feeling of being needed. Below are the steps to really build up his ego.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Experienced dance partner
  • Enthusiasm and patience
  • Positive attitude
  1. Step 1

Wear appropriate attire for the dance and avoid heavily-fragrant products. Your partner will appreciate it and it will make the session easier.

  2. Step 2

Respect your partner's right to lead the dance (if you are the woman). Deviating from this rule will ultimately "land you on the sidelines (and blacklisted) for sure unless you have stunningly good looks" (Kim, 1998).

  3. Step 3

"Please be sensitive to your partner's level of dance experience" (Kim, 1998). Appearing egotistical about your skills (if you are the man) will only give the impression of rudeness to others.

  4. Step 4

Smile as you dance. Exhibiting any signs of boredom or irritation will make the other person feel inadequate. In other words, you will end up with no partner at all.

Tips & Warnings
  • Smile and converse with partner during the dance session. It keeps every motion moving along smoothly.
  • Never appear limp in your partner's arms (if you are the woman) as the added weight will create difficulty.
