How to Make Peanut Butter Tandy Cakes

  1. Step 1

Scald the milk and margarine in a pan and then set them aside and let them cool.

  2. Step 2

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla, and eggs separately. Mix until the lumps are gone and the mixture takes on a yellow color. This will be most easily done with an electric mixer, but it isn't necessary.

  3. Step 3

Add the cooled milk and margarine to the flour mix, and stir.

  4. Step 4

Pour all the contents into a greased 9X12 inch pan. Create an even, level top on the mixture, this will be important later.

  5. Step 5

Bake at 350ยบ for 25 minutes.

  6. Step 6

When it's completely baked and while it's still hot, spread peanut butter over the top. The peanut butter will spread more easily if it is warmed before hand. Spread it consistently across the top so that no area has more than another. Corners are especially important.

  7. Step 7

Put it in the refrigerator to cool off for 45 minutes.

  8. Step 8

After it is cooled off, melt chocolate slowly in a pan, being careful not to burn it. Then spread the choloclate over the peanut butter.
