How to Get Wrinkles out of Clothes

Almost everyone has left a load of laundry in the dryer too long or, even worse, shoved warm clothes into a laundry basket and left them for a day or two. When you go to fold the items, they are full of wrinkes and may look like they have been wadded into little balls. Having to iron every piece of laundry is a chore, and some people just wash the load again. But there is an easy way to solve this problem.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Turn the dryer to low and set the timer for about 10 minutes.
Step2
As soon as the dryer stops, remove the clothes and shake them out. Fold or hang immediately. They should be wrinkle-free. No one will ever know you let them sit in the dryer too long.
Step3
Repeat steps 1 to 3 for all of your wrinkled clothes. Re-dampen the towel between batches.
Step4
Separate special items. This method works well for clothes that usually don't have to be ironed if removed promptly from the dryer. If you have a load of tee-shirts and jeans that are wrinkled, put them back in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet and a slightly damp, clean bath towel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only try this method with a few pieces of clothes at a time. It won't work well with a full load.
  • Only use this method with clothes that can be safely washed and dried and that usually come out of the dryer wrinkle free if taken out promptly.
  • This method won't work on your linens.
