This punch is the perfect beverage for a party, shower, or even an afternoon wedding reception. It makes a beautiful display in a large crystal punch bowl in the middle of a snack table. The sherbet will float in the punch and gradually melt, coloring the beverage. Choose a color of sherbet that will coordinate with the colors for your occasion. Sherbet can usually be found in pink (rasberry), yellow (lemon), orange (orange) or green (lime).

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two 2 liter bottles of ginger ale, well chilled
  • 1/2 gallon container of sherbet (any flavor)
  • 2 quarts of pineapple juice, well chilled
  • Punch bowl
  • Serving ladle
  • Cups
  1. Step 1

Leave the glass punch bowl in the refrigerator overnight to get it very cold. Take it out and put it on the serving table no more than 10 minutes before serving the punch.

  2. Step 2

Pour cold pineapple juice into the punch bowl. Using an ice cream scoop, add rounded scoops of sherbet to the juice.

  3. Step 3

Pour the ice cold ginger ale over the sherbet and pineapple juice. The sherbet will begin to melt and the punch will quickly assume the color of the sherbet.

  4. Step 4

Start serving the punch within 5 to 10 minutes of adding the ginger ale.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the ingredients, including the punch bowl, are very cold before making the punch or the sherbet will melt too quickly. It looks nice to have some sherbet floating in the punch.
  • Have extra juice, ginger ale and sherbet on hand and add them when the bowl starts to get low.
