Once college graduation is over, friends are usually spread across the country–sometimes the world. Starting new jobs or going into graduate school can make it difficult to keep in touch. Lose track of someone special? Search for your college friends on MySpace.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • A MySpace account

How to find college friend

Step1
Log on to your MySpace account.
Step2
Select “Search” at the top of the page.
Step3
The second option on the search page is “Classmate Finder.” Enter your college and the state where the school is located.
Step4
The next page will give you more options to detail your search, including alumni and current students, which year the person graduated or the years attended.
Step5
Browse the profiles that are found in your search. Select familiar faces’ profiles to see more detail. If the person is a friend from college, select “Add to friends” on the left portion of the screen. When the friend approves your friend request, you will notified by email.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you add friends, look at their profile and see if they have found anyone you haven’t.
  • If there is someone specific you want to contact, use the first search option and enter their full name in “Name.”
  • Take into consideration the size of your college. If there are too many people to wade through, consider narrowing the field by major, Greek affiliation or your graduation year only.
  • A fellow alum must have entered college in the education portion of her profile to be able to be found in this type of search.
