You need to network. There are sites that you can do this on or you can do this in person. But this is going to be the greatest tool in your box.
-
Step 2
Pay attention to job postings when you see them. Ask lots of questions and make sure you are not working for a creep or someone who seems shady. If you have the feeling that they are, don’t go. Always go with your gut feeling.
-
Step 3
Just like a business, you are going to have to put a little money into yourself. It could be really great headshots, it could be a better guitar, whatever it is be prepared to do this. It will make you better looking as a talent.
-
Step 4
Always look on the bright side! Sometimes you won’t get a job or two, and you think it’s hopeless. Make is a learning experience; learn from why you didn’t get the job and improve.
-
Step 5
Keep on your toes. Sometimes a job comes along, you get there and they pull the rug out from under you and expect you to do something else. Don’t panic; try to do it the best that you can. This will make you look willing and able to switch gears, which is always good.
