Things You'll Need:
- Leash
- Collar
- Large jugs
- Waterproof container
- Warm blanket
- Small tent (optional)
- Small scoop and shovel
- Identification tags for dogs
-
Step 1
Pack a leash and collar for your dog. Most campsites require dogs to be on a leash.
-
Step 2
Invest in a large jug so you'll have plenty of water for your pet. Many campsites have access to water, but if you're not sure if the camping area provides this, or you know they don't, invest in enough jugs and fill them with water before you leave for your camping adventure.
-
Step 3
Pack plenty of food for your dog and store it in a waterproof container. The length of your stay will determine the amount of food you'll need.
-
Step 4
If your dog has a favorite chew toy, take it as well.
-
Step 5
Pack a warm blanket for your dog if you will be camping in cold weather. In addition to the bedding, you could also invest in a small tent for your dog to sleep in.
-
Step 6
Take a first aid kit for dogs. You can check with a local veterinarian for suggestions on what the first aid kit for dogs should contain.
-
Step 7
Buy a small plastic scoop and shovel so you can clean up your dog's waste.
-
Step 8
Place identification tags on your dog. These are a few of the basic supplies you can pack to prepare for a camping trip with your dog. If you can think of more supplies, then by all means, pack them as well.
