Your daughter likes to rummage in the refrigerator every 2 minutes. Other times she may open the refrigerator door only once a day. The husband goes for the chocolate milk and candy bars in the middle of the night. And what is that your son is doing? Eating lunch for the third time? Then there is you, wandering around the kitchen wanting to devour all there is within reach! There are ways to handle these crazy eating habits--here are a few steps to help you do it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Remember each person is different, and so is their metabolism. Metabolisms change with weather, menstrual cycles and how much you’re moving around. Always keep these facts in mind when you are reaching for that chocolate bar or your sons are fighting over the last cookie.
Step2
Get to know your habits and those of your family. If your son is going to play football for the few next months, he is going to eat more. If you are experiencing PMS, you are going to crave carbohydrates.
Step3
Learn the affects certain foods have on your body. Some foods will make your skin oily, and some will cause bloating. Did you know during PMS carbohydrates can cause sugar lows? All foods affect people in different ways.
Step4
Try to change bad eating habits which will affect you and your family for years to come. Keep this in mind when you see your daughter in the refrigerator every 2 minutes.
Step5
If you are trying to control eating binges, allow yourself to indulge once in a while. If you deny yourself goodies all the time, you’ll only want them more, so let yourself have something you really enjoy once or twice a week.
Step6
If you indulge excessively, force yourself to work out an extra 30 minutes. This will either stop you from indulging excessively or keep those extra calories at bay.
Step7
Don’t expect too much too soon. Go easy on yourself and your family. Bad habits are hard to break, and if you set your goals too high you won’t achieve them, which will only lead to depression. We all know what some people do when they’re depressed--they eat!
Step8
Feel good about small changes. Small changes lead to bigger ones.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't diet. If you want to watch your weight, change your eating habits. It's easier, more fulfilling and healthier.
