How to Make Quinoa With Broccoli

Quinoa (pronounced "keen-wa") is a a tall crop plant of the goosefoot family whose small, ivory-colored seed can be used as a healthy grain alternative to rice in many dishes. It has a unique texture which blends well with the bushy crown of broccoli making this recipe a tasty and healthful entree on its own.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Package of quinoa
  • Stove
  • Large saucepan with lid
  • Two heads of broccoli
  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Add two cups water and one cup quinoa to saucepan. Place on high heat until boiling.

  2. Step 2

    Reduce heat to a simmer and cover saucepan with lid. Cook ten minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Cut broccoli into bite size pieces and add to saucepan. Cover and cook for another ten minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Empty quinoa and broccoli into bowl and drizzle olive oil and soy sauce onto it to taste. Serves two.
