Sometimes it will be obvious when an area needs to be cleared, like when you have a dispute or a car accident, and other times you'll need to use your intuition and trust your feelings.

Instructions

Start by removing any items that trigger negative thoughts. If you bought a car or are moving into a new house, remove any items that might have been left by the previous owners or construction workers.

    • 2

Clean the space thoroughly. Throw out any items that you don't use or are broken.

    • 3

When the space is completely clean, fill a bowl with sea salt and set it in the middle of the area. Be sure the salt has no preservatives or additives like iodine. Leave the bowl in the area for 30 minutes or longer if you feel it's necessary.

Another method of clearing is to use a smudge stick, preferably sage. Light the stick and as the smoke starts to rise, start at the top of your head and move the stick all the way around and down your body. When you have cleared yourself, start at the closest corner to the right of the entrance and wave the stick up and down. Start moving clockwise and go throughout the entire area while reciting an affirmation of your choice. A good one could be "I banish all negative energy from this space and bless it with divine love and light."

When you are done clearing the space, a good way to keep negative energy at bay is to keep fresh flowers in the area. Also, a crystal in each corner of the room will absorb all negative energies.

Tips & Warnings

  • Whatever you use to clear your area, be sure to remove it from your house when you are done.
