Things You'll Need:
- Plastic cups
- Beer
- Ping-Pong balls
- Ping-Pong table
-
Step 1
Place two sets of plastic cups on either side of the table. Arrange the cups in a pyramid formation. Put six cups at the base, five in the next row and so on until you have only one cup at the top.
-
Step 2
Most plastic cups will have a line near the bottom of the cup. Since you’re playing with more cups, fill them only to that line. Technically, you can fill the cups up to half way without compromising the game.
-
Step 3
Have a team of three individuals on either side of the Ping-Pong table.
-
Step 4
Give one team two Ping-Pong balls and the other team one. You can determine which team gets two to start the game by a coin toss, “do or die” shot or any other method you and your group may prefer.
-
Step 5
Have the two players of one team that are standing on the outside take the two Ping-Pong balls. For the other team, give the player in the middle the Ping-Pong ball.
-
Step 6
Have all of the players toss their Ping-Pong balls at their leisure. Note that there should be a penalty for a player holding onto a Ping-Pong ball for too long before shooting, such as taking away a cup from his team.
-
Step 7
When a Ping-Pong ball enters a cup, remove the cup. Then the player standing opposite of the shooter who made the ball into the cup drink the beer that’s in the cup. For example, if I’m standing in the middle and I made my shot, the middle player on the other team must drink the beer in that cup. You cannot take a shot until you have finished the beer in your cup.
-
Step 8
If a team makes three consecutive shots without the opposing team taking a shot, that team gets all three Ping-Pong balls back.
-
Step 9
When one team is down to six cups, rearrange those cups into typical beer pong pyramid fashion. From here, continue playing with the same rules as above.
-
Step 10
When one team is down to a single cup and a shot is made into that cup, the game stops. From here, the other two players on the team that’s ahead gets a shot at the single cup. If one makes a shot, the player standing opposite of him is eliminated from the game. If both players make the shot, the game is over.
-
Step 11
From here, the team that has lost of all their cups gets what is called “redemption.” Shooting one at a time, the remaining players must make a shot into the remaining cups of the opposing teams. Once a player misses once, his turn is over. If all of the players finish with their turns and there are cups remaining, the team with the cups remaining wins the game of beer pong. If the team shooting redemption sinks a ball into every cup, the game goes into overtime.
-
Step 12
In overtime, the cups can be arranged in any pyramid formation that you desire. The same 21-cup beer pong rules as above apply for overtime.
