Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- An ability to control anger
Step1
Nudge your sleeping partner on the shoulder or back. That could solve the problem.
Step2
Give the snorer's pillow a brief, but violent tug. That's generally a good temporary solution that will allow the snorer enough time to fall back asleep.
Step3
Don't get angry! Snoring is nobody's fault!
My mother actually tried this in the 1920s from another room and it worked! Tie a string to the snorer's big toe. Every time she snores, pull on the string. When the foot moves, so generally does the rest of the body. That too could halt the snoring and prevent the snorer from waking up in a terrible frame of mind.
Step4
Squeeze the snorer's nose briefly. That might convert him to breathing through his mouth, which often results in discontinued snoring.

on 1/29/2008 He doesn't have to know! Tie it quietly while he's sleeping (and snoring!) and untie it before he wakes up! Of course, it would be tough to keep that a secret for long, and what if he wakes up first? Hmmmmmm...

on 1/29/2008 Interesting idea. I never thought of tying a string to his toe. Don't know if he would go for it though.
