A used drum set can be a great gift for somebody who wants to learn to play the drums. A used drum set can also be much cheaper than a new one. Here is how you can find a used one.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a local music store. This is the most obvious option when it comes to finding any instrument, including a used drum set. You don't want to buy the first drum set that you see. You can, however, get a good idea on what type of drum set you want to buy if you go to a music store.

  2. Step 2

Check different online marketplaces. Many times, local musicians will look to sell a used drum set on websites such as Craigslist. Search those forums before making any final decision on a used drum set.

  3. Step 3

Go to an antique store. These stores often have used instruments, including used drum sets, for a very reasonable price.

  4. Step 4

Go to a local venue in your area. Many times, these venues will sell used instruments. A venue may also have fliers and information on where you can find a used drum set.

  5. Step 5

Post a flier at a local music show. This will get the information out to the public that you are searching for a used drum set. By putting this flier at a popular venue, you are almost guaranteed to receive some feedback on buying a used drum set.

  6. Step 6

Contact a local band about obtaining a used drum set. Almost every town and city has at least one band that plays only local venues. This band probably has a website and an email address. Send a message to the band, letting the members know that you're looking for a used drum set. You may get lucky and find that the band is interested in selling a drum set. If they're not, they may be able to point you to somebody selling a drum set.
