Cooking lasagna is one of the easiest emals a cooks can throw together and make his guests think he slaved over it for hours. Here are two easy ways to make lasagna sauce.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • jar of spagetti sauce
  • 9 oz can of mushrooms
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 16 ounces low fat collage cheese
  • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces mozerella
  • parmesan to sprinkle

Step1
The absolute easiest way to make lasagna is from jar sauce. Begin by browning crumbled meat in a deep frying pan. Season lighly with garlic powder and onion powder. Drain mushrooms and add. Drain excess grease from meat and return to pan. Add jar of sauce on low temperature to warm.
Step2
In a large bowl, combine ricotta, cottage cheese and mozerella. Mix thoroughly.

Beginning with cheese mix, layer in a 9 x 9 baking pan. Use cheese, then red sauce, then no boil pasta sheets or fresh pasta sheets. If you want to use the type that require oiling, you can. These just need more baking time.
Step4
Depending on how deep your pan is, you can probably get two layers. Then, but reamining sauce on top of noodles. Sprinkle with a layer of mozzerella cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and place overnight in fridge.

Remove the plastic wrap, cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. When the noodles are soft and the cheese if melted, remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and serve.

If you prefer to make the sauce completely from scratch, begin with fresh garlic (about two cloves crushed and browned with the meat). Drain the meat and add 1 small can tomato paste and 16 ounces of tomato sauce. Add one teaspoon of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes.

Next, add oregano, onion and other Italian seasonings (or Italian seasoning mix) to taste. Stir is mushroom. You may also want to add finely diced black olives for added flavor. Heat over emdium heat until it is the consistence of jar sauce. Then proceed as above.

Add a green salad and garlic bread for a perfec dinner that makes guests think youslavedfor hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you cannot make lasagna the night before, you can bake immediately.
  • If used the same day, increase the baking time and expect the lasagna to be a little soupier.
  • This meal stores really well and is even better the second day.
  • Make sure to get a very deep pan for your lasagna and place a cookie sheet on the shelf below it in the oven to avoid smelly and messy overflow.
