If you spend most of your time driving your children around to a host of activities, your style may be suffering. But you don’t have settle for throwing on a sweat suit every day and running out the door. If you have the right basic items in your wardrobe, you can achieve high-end style and still get the kids where they need to go in record time. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Jeans
  • Sweater
  • Boots
  • Clogs
  • Pumps
  • Skirt

Step1
Make sure your closet is organized. That will make it easy to find what you need quickly and easily.
Step2
Invest in stylish jeans that are easy to wear and feel good, too.
Step3
Have basic tops in a variety of colors that you can mix and match with neutral bottoms. Layer different pieces together to look very "now."
Step4
Remember that you can be comfortable and stylish at the same time if you make a little effort.
Step5
Be sure your clothing fits well. Baggy items add extra pounds and look like you don’t care very much. Choose tailored items, such as blazers and jackets, with seams or darts to show your figure to its full advantage or hide problem area.
Step6
Include skirts in your wardrobe. There are many simple cuts that work well for casual wear and are easy to move around in.
Step7
Look for high quality fabrics, such as cashmeres, wools and silk-blends. These will dress up a pair of jeans quickly.
Step8
Wear nice shoes, clogs or boots to finish off an outfit. Simple touches like fur-trimming on clogs, textured snake skin pumps and polished low boots add a classy touch.
Step9
Add accessories to give your look an extra polish. This will help you to look like you spend time getting dressed.
Step10
Try putting different color combinations together. A deep pink top can really pop against brown corduroys or pants and look more interesting and flattering than simply pairing plainer colors together.
Step11
Always wear lipstick. Even if you don't have time to do a full face of makeup, this will help you look refreshed and vibrant!

Tips & Warnings

  • Study fashion magazines and fashion websites for ideas of how to put items together in new ways.
  • Buy a steamer so you can freshen your clothes anytime.
  • If you stand up straight, you and your clothing will look better instantly.
  • Avoid wearing things that are too tight or too big. Periodically re-evaluate your size.
  • Don’t be limited by what the other moms wear. Just because they choose not to dress up doesn’t mean that you can’t!
