How to Celebrate Christmas in Atlanta

  1. Step 1

Go ice skating downtown at Centennial Olympic Park--Atlanta's only outdoor ice skating rink. Christmas bulbs and decorations wind around the rink, greeting ice skaters in a city that rarely ever sees snow.

  2. Step 2

Take a trip to Lake Lanier Islands for their annual Magical Nights of Lights. Christmas decorations and miles of lights are strewn on trees, walkways and bridges for over six miles. On the trail, take a stroll down candy cane lane or stop by Santa's village and roast marshmallows with family and friends.

  3. Step 3

Take your family, friends or a date to the Alliance Theater to see "A Christmas Carol," the famous Charles Dickens' play.

  4. Step 4

Take your kids or young family members to ride the "Pink Pig" at Macy's in Lenox Square Mall. This amusement ride opens up only for the holidays.
