How to Make Musical Instruments for Children

Music is one of the most important things in the classroom. Children learn to be creative while singing and playing instruments. This is a fun, easy and affordable way to keep music in the classroom.

Things You’ll Need:

• Hot glue gun
• Plastic bowl with lid
• Fabric
• Other decorative materials of your choice
• Rice
• Scissors

1. Cut one piece of fabric to fit around the bowl and another to fit on the lid.
2. Use the hot glue gun to put one piece of fabric around the bowl and another piece on the lid. Let dry.
3. Decorate your instrument with other decorative materials of your choice.
4. Put rice inside the bowl. This will help create the sound of the instrument.
5. Use hot glue gun to put lid on the bowl.

• You may use things like beads or beans in Step 4. You can test out the different sounds before you get started.
