There are many people--young and old--who suffer from weak knee problems. People don't really realize how much we rely on our knees until they begin to have trouble walking and getting around. There are a few things that can be done to work toward regaining strength in the knees.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Lose weight. Excessive body weight weighs on a person's knees and will eventually result in knee problems.
Step2
Exercise. Take daily walks to exercise and strengthen knees and legs. Also, exercise the knees by walking up and down stairs daily, if possible. This will help your knees to keep from becoming stiff.
Step3
When sitting down or even when standing, stretch your legs and bend your knees back and forth often throughout the day. Any opportunity that you get, perform exercises that will help strengthen your knees.
Step4
Eat foods rich in calcium. You can also take calcium supplements, if necessary. Women should especially intake higher amounts of calcium as they grow older.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consult with your doctor before starting an exercise routine
