Things You'll Need:
- Unused vintage jewelry or unpaired earrings
- Glue and ribbon (optional)
- Any of the following:
- Picture frames
- Wicker baskets
- Wire frame decorations
- Decorative candles or candle holders
- Clothing (like t-shirts) that need a boost
-
Step 1
Sort through your unworn earrings and separate them into piles based on backing: clip-on, wire and studs. Set aside small stones and valuables. The type of earring largely determines the application method required.

Step 2
Rhinestone Brooch on Plain Colored Shirt by bizewriterEvaluate jewelry pieces by color, group if desired, and notice unique shapes and objects that appeal to your design sense. Set your primary selections aside.
-
Step 3
Vintage Clip Earring on Frame by bizewriterGather knickknacks and clothing that may benefit from a design boost. Look for solid colors, clear glass and thin metals, like wire frame. Opt for items thin enough to accommodate a clip or wire earring. Alternatively, consider glue or ribbons as backing for larger items such as candle holders.
-
Step 4
Vintage Brooch on Wicker Basket by bizewriterExperiment and mix and match for your favorite selections. Note that many clip-ons and brooches will not require glue to be attached, so be selective about permanent fixes.

on 12/31/2008 Great ideas. I've done this since I don't wear as much jewelry as I could but love to look at it around the house! 5*s
