Kentucky Jodhpurs are long riding pants with bell-bottoms. They have straps attached that are meant to go under your boots. As fashions evolve, so do riding pants, and you'll find numerous colors and styles available on the market.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look for a fabric that's made up of cotton and lycra twill. They will be very comfortable and allow you to move freely. There are also polyester pants available.

  2. Step 2

Find a pair with the features you want. Some Kentucky Jodhpurs have two front pockets, others have a side zipper and fabric knee patches

  3. Step 3

Get the color that appeals to you. Kentucky Jodhpurs are offered in black, brown, beige, gray and navy. There are also denim pants on the market.

  4. Step 4

Choose the correct length. Kentucky jodhpurs usually come in short, regular or long. If you're shorter than 5'3", order short pants. Likewise, if you're taller than 5'8", opt for the long pants.

  5. Step 5

Consider a low rise cut. This an updated twist on the classic style of Kentucky Jodhpurs.

  6. Step 6

Order your pants online at sites like Kentucky Jodhpurs or Equestrian Collections (see Resources below). When you're riding, keep the pant straps on. They prevent the pants from riding up your leg and chafing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never ride in capri pants or shorts. You should always wear full-length pants.
