Foam parties are gaining popularity at some dance clubs. The dance floor is covered with three to four feet of soap foam. Clubs make their foam by buying or renting soap foam machines but if you wish to throw a foam party at home you can make the foam without a machine.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Heavy plastic sheeting
  • Child's pool
  • Large plastic trash can
  • Hot water hose
  • Shop Vac
  • 10 to 15 bottles of dish soap
  • Buckets
  • Shovel

Step1
Choose a location for your foam party that will not get damaged by water. It is best to throw your foam party outdoors, but a cement basement with cement walls will also work well.
Step2
Cover the floor and bottom halves of the walls with thick plastic sheeting like the kind that is used as drop cloths when painting.
Step3
Set up your foam making supplies. Put the child's pool in the center of the party area and place the plastic trash can inside the pool. Set up the Shop Vac outside of the party area and run the hose into the trash can. Put the nozzle of the hot water hose into the trash can as well.
Step4
Turn the Shop Vac onto blow and turn on the hot water hose. Hold both of the hoses in the same hand approximately half way into the trash can. Water should be spraying out of the trash can and into the child's pool.
Step5
Squirt the dish soap at the nozzle of the hot water hose. Foam will start building up in the trash can and splashing out to fill the room. As the pool gets full of water, use the buckets to scoop out the water and empty it into a drain.
Step6
Spread the soap foam around the room using snow shovels.

Tips & Warnings

  • The floor will get very slippery during your foam party. To prevent guest from falling and getting hurt you might want to put non-slip pads on the floor like the kind used in bathtubs. Pieces of old carpet could also be used.
  • If someone does get hurt, you will be legally liable even if the person signed a waiver beforehand.
