Create some more buzz for your upcoming appearances on the book tour circuit by having a blog book tour. You can publicize your work and career and, more to the point, sell a lot more books.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a potential host for your blog book tour. You can find blog hosts through Technorat or Blogsearch. Choose the one that has the most activity, reader participation and traffic. Make a list of other potential host companies and keep them in reserve.

  2. Step 2

Create an excerpt to post on your blog. According to PMA, your excerpt must accomplish three things: "To convince the blogger to host your appearance, promote your appearance to the blog's readers, [and] prepare the blog audience to discuss issues and ideas raised in your book".

  3. Step 3

Provide your background, a book plot summary, blurbs, an author's photo, and a strong book excerpt. Provide a link to your website for the blog host to copy, as many people are leery about opening email attachments.

  4. Step 4

Pitch to the blog host. Start with hosts who do blogs in your genre. Try to choose someone you think you can work with long-term. If you're rejected, move on to the next name on your list.

  5. Step 5

Mention your blog at every appearance to create even more of a buzz. This helps build a following for your book.
