Step 1
Learn about grooming etiquette. In order to properly use grooming etiquette you need to know what it entails. To learn this you can research or take a class. Consider a personality development school that teach you not only grooming etiquette, but table manners, dining etiquette and social etiquette.
-
Step 2
Acknowledge the grooming etiquette you intend to follow. Some of these can be quite obvious and identified by using your senses, smell and sight being the two most important. While body odor should be banished, it is also important to not wear perfumes too heavy. You should always appear neat and groom appropriately for the occasion. Some of these things may be showering, shaving, deodorant, hair styling, eye brow care and skin care.

Step 3
Put your plan into action. Once you have decided the areas of grooming that are important to you, make sure to learn how to do them correctly and then practice. If you are a woman, this should be proper skin care for your skin type and make up application. For men, a skin care regimen is also recommended and facial hair should be considered carefully.

Step 4
Practice until it is routine. Once you have done the same thing repeatedly for a number of days, usually two to three weeks, it will become routine and you will not have to think about the action as you do it. Once your new grooming habits become routine, you will appreciate them more and are well on your way to being well groomed.
