While playing the PC version of the game, press the tilde (~) button and it will bring up a console that allows you to enter cheat codes. You can find lists of cheat codes on a variety of sites including Cheat Happens. These codes allow you to get a number of different things within the game such as invincibility, all weapons and ammo, invisibility and unlimited auxiliary power.

Use the Portal Gun Hack on cheatscodesguides.com. You need both Portal and Half-Life 2 in order for this hack to work and the site suggests you back-up all pertinent files before trying to use it since it does modify your game files. This is a lengthy cheat to setup, but may be worth the trouble.

Download cheats using tips from Action Trip. This site offers an in-depth list of the main cheats you can download and use during game play. They also offer assistance if you need help using these cheats.

Join a gaming forum. Hook up with other Half Life 2: Episode Two fans to learn and share new cheats as they're discovered. These are chat-based forums with some offering various rooms dedicated to different games. When applicable, go directly to the Half Life 2: Episode Two forum to ask questions or offer advice once you've registered with the site. You can find gamers on sites like Sportsgamers.com (see Resources below).

Buy gaming magazines. Many of these publications feature cheats for various games in each issue, but there's no guarantee your game will be featured. Since you have to pay for the magazines, this route may not be as feasible as looking online where you can find Half Life 2: Episode Two cheats for free.

Sign up for email alerts. Some gaming sites where you can become a registered member also offer the option to sign up for email alerts. These alerts will be sent to you whenever new cheats and tips are posted.
