How to Update Your Site Listing in DMOZ
Web pages and their content change daily. For DMOZ editors to keep up any changes on your site listing, you should submit them as soon as you can. Things that would necessitate an update include changes to the site's URL, spelling or grammar corrections to the title or description, new titles or descriptions or a new category suggestion for the site.

Prepare your changes. If the title or description has changed, prepare them in a text editor or word processor. Run spell check and check for grammatical errors. Getting submissions correct the first time generates less work for the DMOZ editors and ensures a cleaner directory.

Browse to your listing on DMOZ (see Resources below). You can either open a bookmarked category or browse to your site's category from the front page.

Click on "Update Listing" at the top of the page. This will bring you to a form with the URL of your listing. Remember that this is the URL of your DMOZ listing, not the URL of your site. If the URL of your site has changed, enter the URL DMOZ has on record and not the current URL of your site.

Enter your site's URL and hit "Update Listing."

Read the guidelines page and ensure that your updated information meets the guidelines before entering any updated information in the form.

Enter your email address and the nature of your changes. Be honest and descriptive in the nature of your changes. If you put inaccurate information in this field, the editors may not make the changes. Also put a valid email address in the email field, or the editors may not be able to contact you with questions.

Click on "Update Listing."

Wait for a response. The time it takes the editors to respond can vary. If the change isn't made in a few weeks and you haven't heard from the editors, the category may need an editor. Consider applying for the spot.

Check the changes once they have been made. Make sure there are no mistakes in the URL, title, description or categorization. If there are errors, repeat the update process until they are resolved.

If you cannot remember the old URL of your site, right-click on your site's entry in DMOZ and select "Copy Link Location."
