1
Repulse your attacker with sticks or anything similar, such as tree branches, baseball bats, broom handles or even a rolled-up newspaper. Jab and poke at your assailant, as opposed to swinging wildly. Aim for vulnerable areas such as the solar plexus (just below the breastplate), the throat, the eyes, the abdomen and the groin.

2
Carry a walking stick. Here's a stylish weapon. A cane with a heavy head can be used like a bat, except it's whippier and easier to wield.

3
Grab a small, heavy object. Use an ashtray, a rock, a can of food, or a bottle to increase the force of any blows you deliver. A glass jar of mustard fits in your hand like a baseball. You can throw it full force in your attacker's face. Keys held in your hand, with the individual key blades protruding from between your fingers, make an effective weapon.

4
Create a shield out of everyday objects. Use a garbage can lid, a piece of plywood, a suitcase, a chair or even a large skillet to form a barrier between you and your assailant.
-
5
Employ stationary objects to injure an attacker. For instance, by pulling an assailant into a lamp post, concrete column or parking meter, you can stun him and break free long enough to escape.
-
6
Think about everyday objects you can use to temporarily blind the attacker. While throwing sand or dirt into an assailant's eyes may not work, you can certainly achieve better results with hot liquids such as coffee, or household cleaners in spray bottles or aerosol cans. Red pepper tossed in the eyes can have a devestating result.
-
7
Keep distance between you and your assailant by using a bicycle chain, heavy rope or a belt. Wrap one end around your hand and whip at your assailant whenever he approaches. If he runs, don't chase him.
