Valentine's Day is not just for lovers! If you're single, you deserve better than to stay at home watching some sappy movie and eating a tub of ice cream. Call up your friend and celebrate the day anyway. Besides, Valentine's Day should be about appreciating any relationship you have. So exchange that dingy t-shirt and slippers for more festive attire when you go out with your friend.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Go to the local florist, where you and your friend can buy a bouquet of flowers each and give them to a stranger. This play may yield some unexpected results!
Step2
Plan a time during Valentine's Day when you and your friend can sit down and write some goals or aspirations for the future. You may resolve to be in a romantic relationship next Valentine's Day. List positive ways you can make that happen.
Step3
Spread genuine love. A great Valentine's Day activity with your friend may involve volunteer or charity work. Volunteer your time at a soup kitchen or get involved in a neighborhood clean-up project.
Step4
Promise each other that you will not indulge in negative talk, but instead will have some fun together and enjoy each other's company. Avoid overemphasizing the concept of singlehood with such terms as Singles Awareness Day (SAD). While these concepts help you have fun and take a light-hearted approach to being single, viewing singlehood in a bad way may be harmful to your sense of self.
Step5
Tell your friend how much her friendship means to you. Friends need this kind of appreciation just as much as lovers.
