When people think of April Fool's Day they most often associate pranks with friends and co-workers. Unfortunately, that means people forget two of the most important people in their lives: their parents. There's no reason you can't play a great April Fool's Day prank on your parents, whether you do it by yourself or get the rest of the family involved.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Develop the prank you want to play in advance. The more planning you put into the prank the easier it will be to execute. It's typically a good idea to spend at least a week planning. This will allow you time to find everything you need and do dry runs if necessary.

  2. Step 2

Get your parents to leave the house, particularly if your prank involves moving furniture or changing something in the house dramatically. This way you have the time you need to complete the job. Put one of your accomplices on this job, keeping your parents out of the house until you're done prepping.

  3. Step 3

Consider coupling more than one prank together, using a lesser one to put your parents at ease. This way, you can make them completely unaware when you spring the bigger one later.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get your brothers and sisters in on the prank and make them co-conspirators. The more people you get involved the easier it will be to keep your parents distracted while you set up the prank you intend to play.
  • Keep it clean! These are your parents after all. Feel free to scare them, tell them lies or just be plain silly, but avoid any prank that calls for lewd or graphic images or foul language.
