Things You'll Need:
- Accomplices
- Pranks
- Notes
- Resources (depending on the prank)
-
Step 1
Practice. You won't become a master prankster the first time you pull one off. Master pranksters have been developing and executing pranks for a long time. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get the hang of even the most challenging pranks.
-
Step 2
Inspire new ideas by reading about other pranks at TheFoolsDay.com (see Resources below). TheFoolsDay.com and other websites devoted to April Fool's Day are terrific for learning about what pranks people have already pulled.
-
Step 3
Start small. Try pranks that don't involve a lot of people, or rely on few to no resources. Replacing a fresh carton of eggs with hard-boiled eggs only requires eggs and a pot of hot water, and is a good start.
-
Step 4
Graduate to more complex pranks. For example, you might want to try a prank involving everyone at your office, or everyone in your department. You could move everyone's things from one cubicle to another, you could put fake "pink slips" on their desks or you could just unplug everyone's computers so they think there's a blackout.
-
Step 5
Rehearse your pranks in advance of execution. This is especially important for those pranks that involve multiple steps or need the assistance of multiple people. Rehearsing ahead of time can help identify problems with the plan and can ensure that you've worked out the kinks.
