April Fool's Day, while not an official holiday, is one of the more mischievous and eventful days on the calendar. Whether you pull a prank on someone else or you end up the target of others, April Fool's Day is rarely ever boring. Not everything on April Fool's Day has to be a huge prank. If you just want to say hi to someone you care about,, set up a gag, or even just put them in a state of semi-suspicion (which is fun in itself) then send an e-card!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • E-card provider
  • Web design program suite
  1. Step 1

Make your own April Fool's Day e-card from scratch. You can easily edit an image using your favorite paint program or even an HTML programming suite like Dreamweaver. Then you can easily embed the card in an email or send it as an attachment.

  2. Step 2

Head to an online e-card site such as 123Greetings.com (see Resources below). You can use their existing templates as the basis for your e-card or you can simply use their online development tool to make it.

  3. Step 3

Choose a layout for your e-card. Often on a dedicated e-card website you'll find hundreds of different graphics and layouts available, all categorized by holiday.

  4. Step 4

Decide whether or not your e-card will use multimedia such as music or sound effects. Some e-cards come with multimedia pre-programmed, while others allow you to pick and choose different sound and video options.

  5. Step 5

Choose the wording of your e-card. This is probably the most important aspect of any e-card you send. A joke is usually a nice touch for an April Fool's Day e-card.

  6. Step 6

Test your e-card. Most e-card websites allow you to do a "dry run" with your designs to ensure you haven't misspelled anything nor made a mistake in the setup process. Just be sure to turn off pop-up blockers for some e-card websites or your e-card may not open.

  7. Step 7

Send your e-card to the recipient(s). You can usually send an e-card directly from the e-card website, or you can save the e-card as a file and send it from your own email browser.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid foul language or lewd content, especially if it includes video and sound.
