Things You'll Need:
- White sweatpants
- White sweatshirt
- Fiber fill
- 1 yard of pink craft felt
- 1 yard of white craft felt
- Double-sided fusible
- Pink embroidery floss
- Embroidery needle
- Headband
- Pipe cleaners
- White yarn
- Cardboard
-
Step 1
Purchase a pair of white sweatpants and a white sweatshirt in a size larger than you would normally wear.
-
Step 2
Mark where the bunny's pink belly should appear on your sweatshirt using a pencil. It should start somewhere around the chest and extend to just above the hem of the sweatshirt
-
Step 3
Apply the double-sided fusible to the pink craft felt, following manufacturer's instructions.
-
Step 4
Trace the shape of the bunny belly on to the paper of the fusible before cutting out the felt.
-
Step 5
Apply the craft felt within the marks you've made on the sweatshirt. Follow the manufacturer's instructions when ironing it.
-
Step 6
Use pink embroidery floss and an embroidery needle to apply a decorative buttonhole stitch around the edges of the felt tummy.
-
Step 7
Create a round bunny belly from two old white t-shirts by sandwiching a lump of fiber fill between the two shirts. You can stitch around the belly with your sewing machine to secure the fluffy stuff in the middle.
-
Step 8
Make a pompom tail by winding a skein of white yarn around two donut-shaped pieces of cardboard. When sufficient yarn is wound on, slit the yarn around the outer circumference of the cardboard and slip a long piece of yarn around the center of the newly formed pompom to secure it.
-
Step 9
Attach the tail with hot glue or by stitching it to the seat of your baggy sweatpants.
-
Step 10
Create two ears by cutting four bunny ear shapes from white felt and sandwich pipe cleaners between the layers before gluing or stitching them together.
-
Step 11
Add ovals of pink felt to create the centers of the bunny's ears. You can embellish these with embroidery floss around the edges to create greater dimension.
-
Step 12
Attach the bunny ears to a headband by whip-stitching them in place or using hot glue to secure the supportive pipe cleaners and the felt to the top of the band.
