If you enjoy comics, or simply have more digital photos than you want to get copies of and place in an album then ComicLife will be something you're glad you learned. It's relatively easy to use, and this way, you can put four to 10 pictures on one page with photo bubbles or captions if you like. Then all you have to do is print it out and frame it, give it as a gift, or put it in your album. This is a much easier way of storing pictures in an album than printing and pasting. Read on to learn how to start using ComicLife on a Mac.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pictures in iPhoto library
  • Macintosh computer
  • ComicLife in applications of your computer
  • Keyboard and mouse
  1. Step 1

Be sure that the pictures you want to use are in your iPhoto library and in the appropriate folders.

  2. Step 2

Go to your applications folder and click on ComicLife to open.

  3. Step 3

To start, try using the "Brick" template at right. Later, as you have more time to experiment with ComicLife you can use more templates based on what your need is for the pictures you have. There are more templates to choose from. All you have to do is scroll down to another type of selection for templates where it says, "Page Templates."

  4. Step 4

To use the "Brick" template, click on the template and drag it once to the blank page at left.

  5. Step 5

Now, have fun trying out pictures in those spaces. Where it says iPhoto library and shows some pictures you can also scroll the bar down to look at a specific album. Find your pictures.

  6. Step 6

Drag your first picture to a box. Keep in mind some boxes work best for tall pictures, others for wide.

  7. Step 7

Continue to do so. ComicLife should automatically size your picture to fit. If not, click on the center of the picture until you see its outline outside the square box. Use the dotted line to make the picture larger or smaller, and the arrow from your mouse to move it around in the box. Be careful not to move the box. If you do, just go up to edit on your screen and select "Undo."

  8. Step 8

If you want to delete a picture, click the picture until you see the green outline outside the box again and press "Delete" on your keyboard. If you want to choose a different template then click and delete all boxes on the page and drag a new template to the page.

  9. Step 9

To add a balloon or caption to your picture, drag it to the picture. Then, click on it until you see a green box around it to move it to a more appropriate place in the picture or to make it smaller or large. The balloon has a blue dot on the tail. You can use this to move the tail toward the person who is talking, or click on it to create two tails if two people are saying the same thing.

  10. Step 10

If you choose lettering, you will be given the option to change the font. You can also change the color and in a box at top right you can change style and color as well.

  11. Step 11

Now, you have a basic start at ComicLife. Have fun and enjoy, and when you are done, just save click the save option at the top left corner of the screen. For best results, I recommend cutting it from the ComicLife template and pasting it into Photoshop so that you can turn it into a JPEG the size of a page. This way you can have the image printed anywhere, not just at home, and you can store it in your picture files as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful not to move or delete the boxes when you are trying to manipulate a picture.
