Instructions

    • 1

Buy turmeric powder at the grocery store or turmeric supplements at a health store. If using supplements, break the capsules to access the powder.

    • 2

Scoop a couple of teaspoons of turmeric into a bowl. Adjust the amount, depending on how large the area is that needs to be treated.

    • 3

Mix in a small amount of water, one drop at a time, until a thick paste is formed. The consistency should be similar to toothpaste or a cortisone cream.

    • 4

Spread the paste directly onto the skin, covering the red patches with a thin layer. The best time to apply is right before bedtime.

    • 5

Wrap the area with gauze or bandages, fully covering the turmeric paste. Remove in the morning and wash off with warm water.

Tips & Warnings

  • Turmeric is a safe alternative to steroidal cream, such as cortisone, and can be used over an extended period of time.
