How to Play Reindeer Games

Liven up your next Christmas party with reindeer games. These relays and challenges will show Santa who should be his lead reindeer this year. Read on to learn how to play reindeer games.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

• Reindeer (all the folks at your party)
• One roll of gift wrap per person
• One roll of tape per person
• One roll of curling ribbon per person
• One pair of scissors per person
• One large red sack
• A set of jingle bells
• Four to five "gifts" per person: one large, one small, one long and one odd shaped
• Limbo pole (wrap pole in red and white ribbon to resemble a candy cane)
• Christmas music
• Milk
• Cookies
• Small paper plates
• Plastic mugs
• Teaspoons

Tag 'em and Bag 'em (Relay Race)

1. "Reindeer" assemble on a line across the room from the pile of gifts and Santa's sack. Place a table behind the starting line with one roll of gift wrap, one pair of scissors, one roll of tape and one roll of curling ribbon per person.
2. At the signal (jingle bells) everyone races across the room to the pile of toys, takes one toy, and races back. Each person wraps the toy and races back to place it in Santa's sack.
3. Each person takes another toy after placing the first one in the sack. Race back to start, wrap gift, and race back to Santa's sack.
4. Repeat until all gifts are wrapped. The first person to wrap all five gifts and place them in Santa's sack wins.

How High Can You Fly? (Reindeer Reverse Limbo)

5. Using a limbo pole wrapped in red and white ribbon, start with the pole on the ground. Every "reindeer" steps over the pole.
6. Raise pole one inch at a time every time the entire group has a turn. Anyone touching the pole or tripping is out.
7. Repeat until no one is able to get over the pole. The last one over at the highest point is the winner.

Milk and Cookie Rookie

8. Someone has to help Santa drink all that milk and eat all those cookies. But first, you have to get them to him. Make a series of clues leading to Santa's snack.
9. Follow each clue to the next one, retrieving the milk and cookies.
10. Carry the snack back to Santa without spilling the milk. First one back to Santa gets promoted to head reindeer.
11. Extra challenge: Retrieve only a teaspoon of milk at a time. Keep going back for more until Santa's mug is full.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure each participant has a roll of tape, gift wrap and curling ribbon as well as a pair of scissors.
• Use the wrapped gifts as door prizes at the end of the party, or donate them to your local toy drive.
• Use safety scissors if young children are participating.
• Make separate gift wrapping stations if there is enough space, to avoid racers colliding with one another.
• Do not use breakable gifts.
• Change songs each time someone drops out of the game.
• Do not play this game on a concrete floor.
