- non-aluminum saucepan

- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk

- 1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- ¼ cup tarragon wine vinegar
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 cups fresh broccoli flowerets
- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 small sweet onion, sliced (Vidalia, Maui, or Texas Sweet)
- 1 (11 oz ) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 6 to 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup slivered almonds

The first step in making broccoli mandarin salad is to combine the egg, egg yolk, sugar, cornstarch, and dry mustard in a non-aluminum saucepan.
