Blog networks are a great way to meet new people with similar interests. By joining these social websites, you will gain new readers, but only if you make proper use of them. In other words, readers aren't just going to start showing up out of nowhere--you have to make good use of a network. Read on to learn how to make use of blog networks.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A functional email address
  • Contact information when signing up
  • A blog
  1. Step 1

Find a blog network that suits you. Some are more user-friendly than others, but all have a supportive and entertaining community. Once you find a social network that appeals to you (such as BlogCatalog, Cre8Buzz or Mybloglog), make sure to sign up and submit your blog for the world to see.

  2. Step 2

Once you join the network, you will find plenty of blogs with writers that are similar to you in a number of ways. Start leaving comments on their blogs or profiles to set up the beginning of a relationship.

  3. Step 3

Hopefully, other people will return the favor and begin reading your blog with regularity as well. The key is for you to continue visiting your favorite writers because they need the support as well. Additionally, both of you can exchange links to your blogs to help gain even more potential readers.

  4. Step 4

Keep a close-knit group of blogs you read on a regular basis, and be sure to advertise yourself well. Join groups and participate in discussions. It won't be easy getting readers at first, but hard work and dedication (yes, dedication) will ultimately help you establish a base of loyal readers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Participation is key--without it, people will forget about you and your blog.
  • Do not spend so much time in these networks that your blog suffers. Quality writing is one of the best ways to gain additional readers.
  • Once you have joined a network, ask people to review your blog and leave a comment. That way, you will gain a better understanding of what you need to do to improve.
