How to Teach Children to Respect Our Troops
While no one likes to see our country in war, it is sometimes forgotten that the troops who are fighting are not there by choice. Many times soldiers are blamed for the trouble a government has created. Here are some ways to have children remember that it is our troops who pay the dearest price for government decisions, and our troops who retain our freedoms.

1
Never speak ill of our soldiers. Always differentiate between those who make decisions to go to war and the troops who fight the war.
-
2
When talking of political affairs, point out that the most important factor is our troops who are putting their lives on the line.
-
-
3
Always show respect for our country, even if you disagree with the current government.
-
4
Never disregard the troops or our freedom. If you speak as though these things are unimportant, children will grow up thinking the same.
-
5
Speak highly of our soldiers' bravery and how we would not be free without them.
-
6
When you see a soldier, shake his hand and thank him for his commitment, courage and bravery. Not only will this show children who is responsible for their good fortune, but it also means a lot to the soldiers.

Tips & Warnings
Many people will try to start an argument when they overhear you speak highly of soldiers. Don't let them pull you into a dispute. Explain your respect for soldiers doesn't necessarily reflect your opinion of politicians.

Hey Tena, thanks! Our troops deserve so much respect and gratitude that they seldom get! Shame on some of us for the way they are treated. Great Article!
